Anvil Rock
Blue Mountains, NSW

About this place
NSW Government lists Anvil Rock on Anvil Rock Road, Blackheath, as a weathered sandstone formation with views over the Grose Valley to Mount Banks and Mount Hay. The name comes from an anvil placed on the lookout in 1940. A short walk from the carpark reaches the rock; a wind-eroded cave is about 400 m west. Hat Hill Road continues to Perrys Lookdown at the same fork.
