Angourie Blue Pool
North Coast, NSW
A natural rock pool in the old quarry at Angourie Point, on the Yuraygir coast south of Yamba — a swim stop beside the point break.
About this place
Angourie Blue Pool is a freshwater-to-brackish quarry pool cut into the headland at Angourie, at the northern end of Yuraygir National Park. It is a local swimming hole next to Angourie Point, one of Australia's early National Surfing Reserves. The village is tiny; the pool, point and nearby beaches are the reason to stop if you already have the Yuraygir coastal walk on the list. The pool depth and water quality vary — there are no lifeguards. Pair with a walk on the headland and a coffee in Yamba.
Access & getting there
Drive into Angourie village south of Yamba. Short walk from street parking to the pool and point. Can be busy on hot weekends.

Safety notes
No lifeguards. Variable depth, cold water, slippery rock. Do not dive unless you have checked depth. Surf at the point is for experienced surfers.
Gear notes
Swimmers, water shoes helpful on rock.
