About this event

Important: In order to be able to run group walks, these are the current government regulations until at least December 1st: Groups must be 30 people or less. All group members must be vaccinated and carry their certificates at all time in case you get ask for it by authorities (before/during/after the hike) Please provide proof of vaccination to organisers prior to the hike (either on the day or message us before) (those already shown in previous hike not required) Distance: 28km Elevation: 1400m Terrain (HARD) Diffuclty: Hard, due to the terrain. Quite a bit of bush bashing. Lots of scrambling. I have done 100% of the track we intend to do on Sunday, so will not need to waste to much time trying to find the track. Important: Bring a headtorch just in case. Aiming to finish by 7:30pm, or at least get to carlon creek by then. Description: Starting from Dunphy’s we’ll hike to Splendour Rock by first going up Carlon Head, walk a bit on Narrow Neck down Tarros ladder, Wombat Parade. The track back to Dunphy’s from there does not get easier as Cattledog ridge is pretty much bush bashing (long pants/gaiter highly recommended). Once we get to carlon creek, it’s a nice walk along the creek back to Dunphy’s Campground Disclaimer: Not straight forward track, also not for people afraid of heights (chain climb up a cliff face up to carlon’s head). Stay together as a group, especially on Cattledog ridge. Weather: Looking good so far. Transport: Central Platform 6 6:24am gets to Blackheath at 8:38am, from here we will need to carpool to Dunphy’s Campground. (20 min drive from station) Water refill point: 25km mark as soon as we hit Carlon Creek, but they might be a few around Mobbs Soak depending on how much rain there is beforehand. Bring at least 3L water. Exit Points: None IMPORTANT NOTES: You are responsible for looking after your own health and safety. You must also take care not to put other people at risk. Do not venture off the trail or close to cliff edges. Stay together as a group, but maintaining the 1.5m social distancing requirement within the group the entire event. You are a healthy individual with no symptoms of illness ie: cough, flu, cold or other underlying health issues etc. If unwell, please stay at home! You have not been admitted in the hospital or quarantined for the past 14 days. You have not been or coming from overseas for the past 14 days. Wear comfortable outfit and sturdy walking shoes. Bring at least 3L of water, food, tent, sleeping bag, headtorch, water purification system, snacks, hand sanitizer, light rainjacket, warm clothing, small towel. Can move people from waitlist if you message/comment you can commit to come and I know you can do it. Please only sign up if confident you can do it, this is not an easy hike.
