The Roys Peak Track is one of the most popular day hikes in New Zealand and guarantees breathtaking views over Lake Wanaka, Mount Aspiring, and surrounding mountains. The views get prettier the higher you go. Although the trail is wide with no steps/technical difficulties, it is very steep, giving it a hard rating. It takes you from the lake level through farmland, alpine meadows, and grasslands to the summit.
