Katoomba to Wentworth Falls via Mount Solitary
About this event
The walk will start outside Katoomba station (Bathurst Rd side) and finish at Wentworth Falls station. This is a challenging track to enchant experienced bushwalkers, it passes through cool temperate rainforest, mountain heath, and tall Eucapytus forest. Part of this walk will be exploratory, from the top of Mt Solitary to the Sublime Point Trail. Some rock scrambling required. Distance: 42km Elevation/Ascent: 1,800m Pace: 4km p/h Terrain: Steep sections with some rock scrambling required Exposure to heights: Some exposure due to walking along steep, hard to follow tracks along cliff lines with drops below Early exits: No early exits Getting there: 6.24am train from Central Station Preparations: Bring plenty of water (3L+), wear sensible walking shoes, a hat and sun screen and head torch. Bring snacks and lunch.
