Katoomba to Katoomba via Mt Solitary (36.4km, elev 2200m)

Distance: 36.4km Elevation: 2200m Diffuclty: hard due to distance, elevation and terrain! Harder than the walk I posted last week. Description: We take furber steps down and take sublime point trail to solitary first, then ruined castle than back up furber steps to finish. Weather: Max 22’C, 0-3mm light showers. But otherwise great conditions. Transport: Important: There is trackwork for the BM line this weekend. Meet at Blacktown station bus stop Stand M by 6:50am. (or directly at katoomba station 8:10am if driving there). This is a loop so if you park in Katoomba, you will end back at Katoomba. The good news is there is a high frequency of bus from Katoomba back to Blacktown on Sunday evening (every 15-30 mins) Exit Points: None! IMPORTANT NOTES: – You are responsible for looking after your own health and safety. You must also take care not to put other people at risk. – Do not venture off the trail or close to cliff edges. – Stay together as a group, but maintaining the 1.5m social distancing requirement within the group the entire event. – You are a healthy individual with no symptoms of illness ie: cough, flu, cold or other underlying health issues etc. If unwell, please stay at home! – You have not been admitted in the hospital or quarantined for the past 14 days. – You have not been or coming from overseas for the past 14 days. – Wear comfortable outfit and sturdy walking shoes. Bring at least 3L of water, food, snacks, hand sanitizer, light rainjacket, small towerl Can move people from waitlist if you message/comment you can commit to come. Please only sign up if confident you can do it, this is not an easy hike. No gratuity required.
