About this event

We'll car camp at Dunphy's Campground and complete the 2 hikes below: Saturday: Ironpot Mountain / Knights Deck / Carlon Creek (19km, 1200m, overgrown) We will summit Knight's Deck Lookout and sign log book This track is part of the Wild Dogs Mountains in the blue mountains. It is in a remote area and the track is not maintained, hence there is a bit of bush bashing, particularly along cattledog ridge & blue dog ridge. It is a spectacular hike, and boring is the last thing this is. We'll start off going up to Ironpot Mountain, this part is fairly easy.. part of the UTA100 trail.. then we start the descent into Breakfast creek where it becomes more dense. We'll take blue dog spur up to Knights Deck before reconnecting Cattledog ridge down to carlon creek. From here, it's a stinging walk back to Dunphy's campground. Wear long pants and long sleeve shirt. If you're up for an adventure, this is one to do. There are a few big hills though! Sunday: Carlon Head & Bellbird Ridge Lookout This is a shorter hike, so we can leave around lunch time, Carlon Head summit produce an amazing lookout, but it is an exposed climb, I love it though!
