The expedition
Otago’s ridgelines deliver some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most memorable summit days: big lake views, open tops, long climbs, and weather that can change quickly. This challenge links eight named summits into one serious regional objective.
Complete each summit at your own pace and log proof from the top. Some objectives may involve long days, remote terrain, or navigation beyond a casual walk, so choose conditions carefully and turn back if the route, weather, or daylight is not in your favour.
Admins should verify current access, route status, land permissions, and any seasonal considerations before publishing. Participants should carry suitable layers, food, water, navigation, and emergency communication for the route they choose.
