The expedition

The Grand Adventure

The Heysen Trail is South Australia’s premier long-distance trekking experience, stretching 1,200 kilometers from the coastal beauty of Cape Jervis to the dramatic outback landscapes of Parachilna Gorge. This legendary trail is a showcase of Australia’s diverse beauty, weaving through rolling vineyards, rugged gorges, ancient forests, and the arid grandeur of the Flinders Ranges.

Along the way, you’ll encounter kangaroos, emus, and unforgettable sunsets that set the horizon ablaze. Whether you are navigating the Fleurieu Peninsula or the heights of the Wilpena Pound, the Heysen Trail promises discovery, challenge, and a front-row seat to some of the country’s most spectacular scenery.

Important Information

  • Fire Danger Season: The trail is typically closed during the summer months due to fire risk. Check current status before departing.
